Private care

Care that works around you

Choosing to arrange and fund your own care gives you greater choice over the support you receive, when you receive it and how it fits around your everyday life.

Who it is for

Arranging care on your own terms

At Azan Home Care, our private care service is designed around the individual. We take time to understand your circumstances, routines, preferences and the things that are important to you before agreeing how we can best support you.

  • Arranging and paying for your own care
  • Arranging care for a parent

Tailored support

Private home care tailored to you

There is no single approach to home care. Depending on assessed needs, support may include:

  • Personal care and daily routines
  • Medication prompting or support, where appropriate
  • Meal preparation
  • Support with eating and drinking
  • Shopping
  • Everyday household tasks
  • Companionship
  • Social support
  • Support to attend appointments
  • Support accessing the community
  • Respite for family carers
  • Support following a hospital stay
  • Support after a change in circumstances
  • Maintaining independence
  • Keeping established routines
Your care plan is developed with you and reviewed as your needs or circumstances change.

Choice and control

Your choices remain important

Receiving care should not mean losing control over everyday life. We aim to support you to:

Your support team

Have a say in who supports you

Inviting someone into your home is a very personal decision. Where you wish, we can talk about the qualities you value in a care worker, relevant experience, communication style, approach and personal preferences.

Where practical, and subject to staff suitability, availability and safe staffing arrangements, you may be involved in the matching process — and it may be possible to meet potential members of your support team before regular care begins.

We aim to provide continuity and consistency wherever reasonably possible. If a staff match or care arrangement is not working, please tell us so we can listen and, where reasonably possible, find an appropriate solution.

“Your care should feel like your care – planned with you, not simply provided to you.”

Fees

Paying privately for care

Private care is paid for directly by the client or their family, rather than commissioned by a local authority or NHS service.

The cost will depend on assessed support needs, care arrangements and visit requirements.

We will explain the applicable charges before care begins so that you understand the costs involved.

Financial support

Could you be entitled to Attendance Allowance?

People who have reached State Pension age and need help with personal care or supervision because of a health condition or disability may be entitled to Attendance Allowance, subject to Government eligibility criteria.

  • Attendance Allowance is not means-tested
  • Income and savings do not usually affect eligibility
  • You do not necessarily need to already employ a paid carer
  • Eligibility is decided by Government criteria, not Azan Home Care

Attendance Allowance may help with additional costs associated with care needs. People below State Pension age may be eligible for other disability-related support, such as Personal Independence Payment, subject to Government criteria.

Azan Home Care cannot determine whether someone will qualify and does not provide financial advice.
